Fabulous Historic

Quick poll! does anyone else here love historic reenactment? And, are you a reenactor?

and, is anybody here a member of regia anglorum...?

Just wondering if anybody feels much the same as me - Living history, reenactments, reproductions of historic implements, and buildings ,arent they fabulous?
i have just joined the site, Thanks awfully for the link! I would imagine the reenactors will be mainly from 'Regia Anglorum', or 'The Vikings!', in this upcoming film. (i wonder if they will use Wychurst as a location!) i am intreagued as to what death harold will suffer! Will he get the arrow in the eye, or will he be speared, and end up with four knights killing him...?

Yes I love them and hats off to the 'nerds'-'enthusiasts' who give up their weekends to play at being our ancestors. I don't do it myself but I once went out (briefly) with a nice guy who was in an English Civil War re-enactment Society and he proudly showed me all his Parliamentarian soldier's kit, right down to the fuses.I mentioned the most famous group at that time, 'The Sealed Knot', who I had seen doing a 'Battle'. He replied, with withering scorn,
"They're not authentic; they use Velcro" I don't know how I kept a straight face but he was deadly serious!
Have fun.
