My mother in law brought my Daughter a 700 hundred dollar porcelain tea cup set from London and I am very upset I feel like she is 2 young to play with something this expensive (2 years old) and that if she destroys it of course it;s my fault and it's dangerous she could hurt herself if it chips or breaks...I've taken it and put it up but my mother in law is so mad she wont talk to me...am I being ridiculous or valid
Your mother-in-law is a bit wacky, yeah? Does she really have that kind of money to burn? Why not put the money in a college fund for your daughter where it will really be useful?
You did the right thing to put it away - a two year old is going to break a porcelain tea set, its a guarantee! And you are right that she could very easily hurt herself when it breaks - the edges of broken porcelain are sharp as glass.
This is totally snarky - but you should sell the silly thing on e-bay and put the money in a college fund for your daughter. Tell the mother-in-law that it broke and you threw it out!
Your daughter will long appreciate the education so much more than some silly tea set that she'll break in a month and never remember!
