I have posted similar questions and received no helpful answers, so here's another stab at it.
I'm going to Egypt in November. Wondering what the cost of things currently is in Cario. Yes, I understand sometimes you have to bargain when shopping for certain items. That notwithstanding, could you give me a reasonable example of what the following might cost me in Egyptian Pounds -
A tourist t-shirt
Dinner for two at a mid-range restaurant (not cheap but not super luxurious)
A large porcelain plate (such as those sold at the Khan)
A 1/2 hr taxi ride
A Pashimina scarf
An embroidered pillow cover.
If anyone can give me a price range of what is lowest to expect to high-range, I can't tell you how grateful I'd be and I'll certainly award you the 10 points for Best Answer.

One answerer is quoting prices in "pounds," is this British pounds??? It converts to $30 for a tshirt! No way!
Prices vary a lot in Egypt.
However here's a range:
tourist t-shirt: 80 - 100 L.E
Dinner for 2: Not less than 200 L.E
Porcelain plate: don't know
1/2 taxi ride: There are white taxis that charge by the meter. I'd say a half hour will be about 20 L.E
There are black and white cabs. Those will be more expensive because they don't go by the meter and they charge tourists more than they charge Egyptians. Their prices can be extravagantly high. (I'd say 50 - 70 L.E). Choose the white ones. They are new, safer and prices are fixed.
A Pashimina scarf: Depending on where you buy it from and the quality. They range from (30-150 L.E)
An embroidered pillow cover will be about 70 - 100 L.E (that's for regular embroidery but the more delicate the embroidery the more expensive so you could find silk embroidery for hundreds)
