Collectors Item

This toy is a huge deal right now and I wanted to know what you all think about purchasing one and keeping it as a collectors item to sell in the next 20-40 years from now. Would it be a great collector's item like Barbie or comics?

There are better things you can do with your money for the next 20 years. Only buy an elmo if you really want one for you kid. You may be too young to remember the last tickle me elmo craze. Women were trampling each other to get one. Talk about stupid. Remember the pet rock phase? Got any collectors rocks? The market for Barbies and comics etc is very limited. You don't just walk down to the street corner and say here I have a barbie for sale. Ebay is one place to sell. Conventions etc. However you will get a better return on an investment of the same amount of money if you go some place else. Look for growth and liquidity. I have baseball cards that are worth something. Trouble is I can't find a buyer. So I gave them to my son. He played with them. They are about worthless now but if I cant find a buyer, then they were worthless then too.
By a share of your local utility company and let me know what its worth in 20 to 40 years. I bet you do better. Just to be on the safe side get one of each and then find me and let me know which worked out better. I'm betting on your utility company.
