Is there anyway to combine foreign language skills with architecture?

I recently graduated with degrees in Japanese and Psychology and am now studying Chinese as well. I realize I made a poor choice since I'm more attuned to understand mathematical formulas than literary prose and I can draw much better than I can write. I've thought about going back to college to study architecture since this is what I was originally planning to do before a school counselor changed my mind. I know psychology can be used in any career, but is there anyway that these asian language skills that I've spent years acquiring could be used in a career in architecture?
I still have a strong interest in Asia, but I'm not obsessed enough to merit graduate study. Besides, specializing in Asia would offer no artistic expression, but merely the reporting or translating of topics into a Harvard-esque style that I can barely read, let alone write. I'm too plain spoken to be a scholar.
I would love to combine my fondness for Asia with a career in architecture, but how?

I would never advise you to take another undergraduate degree when you already have one and you are working on a second. However, there is merit in starting over at the undergraduate level if you have realized that the language and human psychology skills alone will not interest you in any paid career.

If you decide to study architecture, there will be a great call for architects in China, Japan and any country less than 50 miles from a coastline. Even if we stopped polluting our atmosphere tomorrow, the snowpack on the Rockies/Andes chain will melt within 5 years, the Alps in 10 years, and the Himalayas and both poles in less than 15 years. The earth's mass will remain the same, but the mass will be redistributed--several times, until it finds a balance. The time to find a balance will be approximately the time mountaintops start to accumulate snow and press it into glaciers again. In the meantime, Manhattan, the lower half of Florida, all of New Orleans, the western half of southern California, England (the Scots will be free once more), Bangla Desh, and other assorted places will be under several feet of water--and you know how mud slides when there is a lot of heavy water on top of it. You also know that not all "bedrock" would stay in one place once it was under that much weight: every plate that has been waiting to slip is going to slip a LONG ways. Have no fear that there will be a crying need for linguists with a smattering of psychology and a PASSION for math and architecture for the rest of your life.

Even if none of the disasters former Vice-President Gore predicts actually happen, the people of the majority portion of New Orleans do not understand that their homes and businesses were built on wetlands and that there was no Lake Ponchetrain until they started building dikes and pumping water over the edge into the lake--sometimes faster than it seeped back in, sometimes not. Only the original New Orleans is permanent, because it was built on land that has been above water level as long as Man has lived, it stayed above water during Katrina, and is still above water. It is the New Part of New Orleans that is under water. The people of new New Orleans will need mathematic and architectural help to build a stable homeland. Manhattan has been sinking for years due to the incredible weight of the buildings built upon it; dikes hold back the Atlantic Ocean!. And Japan's newest airport, built upon fill, is sinking one FOOT per year into the ocean; Japan lays a new landing field one foot deep every year. They could surely use some help. The Russian coalition has needed a port that was open all year ever since the land was settled, and they are going to get one whether they wait 10 more years for Global Warming to make one or if they have to set off thermonuclear devices somewhere along their coast line and build a city there; but they will need mathmeticians and architects to design a brand new transportation system to that area, a system which exists nowhere in the world at this time.

While you are working at some job to pay the bills, and you are going to school days, nights, weekends, and/or by computer, I suggest that you let your local Disaster Support Team know that you are in the area. They might need you if two plates let loose of each other in central Oklahoma (variously known as the "Meers fault" or the "Kiowa fault"). (It's the reason we have mountains of volcanic rock heaped up over several counties that popped up out of the plains before the Indians came without there being a volcano closer than "Old Faithful.")

I realized my mistaken direction sooner than you did: I knew I did not want to be a high school English teacher halfway through undergraduate school; I was lucky enough to lean in a different direction into Instructional Systems Design--and the Army paid me generously for 26 years. (They knew vaguely what they needed but had no idea of how to build it.)
